Eating Disorder Recovery Courses at Nicholaston House

The unique approach and setting of Nicholaston House, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, has resulted in many transformed lives through the work of Eating Disorder Courses run and led by Helena Wilkinson.

Background to Eating Disorder Recovery (OED) Courses

OED (Overcoming Eating Disorders) courses were set up by Helena Wilkinson and Nikki Cole over 20 years ago while they were running Kainos Trust, which merged in 2004 with Swansea City Mission. During this time they have seen hundreds of eating disorder sufferers make significant changes to their lives.

Present Situation

Following a serious accident in 2019, Helena is currently recovering; there are no courses planned for the foreseeable future.

GOD'S House: The Story of Nicholaston House, by Derrick Hancock. The incredible story of a retreat house in one of Wales’ most spectacular beauty spots has been published.

‘God’s House’ is a detailed account of how Nicholaston House came into existence by the man who had the vision and was given instruction direct from God.

In 1990 God unmistakably led Sue and Derrick Hancock to Swansea to see a vision fulfilled which God had given them some years previously. The booklet (A5, 53 pages, colour) gives a brief factual account of what God did and is doing. It has been written for two reasons - to give glory to God and to show what very ordinary people can do when they step out in faith with God. 'All that we have accomplished, You have done for us' - Isaiah 26 v 12.
